From a small garage to a global player

On May 2, 1944, NIMO was founded in a garage in Jönköping. Initially, the company focused on stainless steel products for large kitchens and restaurants. But during the 1950s, one of the founders made a decisive decision – to acquire the rights to drying cabinets, a choice that would shape the company’s future.

By the end of the decade, operations relocated to the scenic industrial town of Hova in Västra Götaland, where all of our activities remain under one roof to this day. In 1961, production of drying cabinets and laundry benches began – areas in which NIMO quickly became a pioneer through innovative solutions. It soon became clear that the company was on the right path, and the business expanded rapidly.

From modest beginnings in a garage, NIMO has grown into a leading player in the industry. Our journey is an inspiring combination of tradition and innovation, and we are proud to unite our heritage with a continuous ambition to create the solutions of tomorrow.

NIMO today

Since the move to Hova, this industrial town has been the heart of NIMO’s production. Here, drying cabinets are manufactured with precision and care, while product development continues to meet the evolving needs of the market.

Sustainability is a central part of NIMO’s operations – from product design to social responsibility. Environmental impact is reduced through energy-efficient products and sustainable materials. As an employer, we promote a safe and fair working environment, while supporting the local community in various ways.

By combining traditional craftsmanship with advanced technology, we ensure the highest quality in our products. Whether it concerns drying cabinets or new innovations, you can always rely on precision and long-term performance.

Our future

With deep roots in Hova, NIMO will continue to deliver products that make a difference in everyday life – with the same passion and craftsmanship that have defined the company since 1944.

Our strength lies in our people

At NIMO, it is our employees who make the difference. As one of the largest employers in Hova, with approximately 120 employees, we see our workforce as a family.

Many have worked with us for generations, and their commitment and loyalty form the foundation of our success. We strive for balanced gender representation and diversity, adding valuable perspectives to our organisation. When our employees thrive, it is reflected in both our products and our customer relationships.

A company deeply rooted in the community

With a long history in Hova and strong ties to the local community, we place great value on togetherness. At NIMO, everyone is part of our journey towards the future, and together we create both the best products and the best workplace.

It is this strength – our people – that makes NIMO what it is today.

Energy efficient solutions and responsible resource management

At NIMO, sustainability is a natural part of everything we do. The textile industry requires significant resources, and it is more important than ever to care for already produced textiles in an environmentally responsible way. Our drying cabinets dry gently using air only – a sustainable alternative that extends the lifespan of garments and textiles.

Through energy-efficient solutions and responsible use of resources, we reduce our environmental impact. With carefully selected materials and optimised production processes, we create value for both our customers and the environment. Through energy-efficient, chemical-free textile care, we contribute to a more sustainable future.

For us, sustainability is a long-term journey. We take responsibility by providing a safe working environment, supporting the local community in Hova and developing products with minimal environmental impact. And we continue to evolve to meet the needs and challenges of tomorrow.
