Design & innovation lead

Nimo is currently seeking a Design & innovation lead who will play a central role in shaping Nimo's future. The company is in an expansion phase and on an exciting development journey, including several significant investments in both process and product development. As the leader of the Design and Innovation department, consisting of eight members, you will be responsible for the strategic work of identifying and realizing product plans from visualization to finished product design. This work will be carried out in close collaboration with production, product managers, and sales. An essential task is to provide dedicated and clear leadership for the development team and the company's technical lab. Actively working on environmentally adapting products for sustainable development and initiating, driving, and developing the product development process are other key focus areas. You will report to the CEO and be part of the company's management team.

Your responsibilities will include:

-Personnel and budget responsibility for the Design & Innovation department
-Leading cross-functional projects of various types and sizes
-Providing innovative and sustainable solutions in line with the business plan and strategic direction
-Creating and implementing a technical roadmap in collaboration with the product manager
-Streamlining changes and creating new variants of existing product platforms
-Exploring, developing, and proposing new market concepts and strategies
-Ensuring that customer expectations are met according to specifications
-Collaborating with other leaders for project and resource planning
-Contributing to and influencing the strategic direction in the management team

We are looking for someone with solid experience in leading product development and project management in companies with in-house development and production, preferably within the automotive industry. Ideally, you have an academic background in design, mechanics, electronics, or biochemistry. You have good knowledge of 3D CAD and modern development tools such as strength and flow simulation. To succeed in this role, you should also have an understanding of business, lean principles, lab activities, and production. You have a keen interest in sustainability as well as a strong desire for development and continuous improvement.
